Breeding Female Culling Rate
- The rate at which breeding females have been culled (removed, sold, or transferred out) from the breeding production stage, expressed on an annualized basis.
Breeding Female Day
- One live breeding female for one day.
- Note: for day to be counted, animal must be present in the herd at the end of the day.
Breeding Female Entry Rate
- The rate at which breeding females are added to the breeding herd, expressed on an annualized basis.

Nurse On
- The Nurse On Event is used to record the creation of a nurse litter.
- A breeding female can become a Nurse Sow shortly after it has been weaned or after it has aborted.
Nurse Sow
- A lactating breeding female which, having had all or part of its own litter weaned, suckles piglets farrowed by other breeding females.
